Terms of Use
The terms that govern your use of this website and your dealings with McBean Immigration Consulting Inc.
Last updated: September 3, 2026
1. Acceptance
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. These terms apply to the website itself; the professional services we provide are governed by the written retainer agreement you sign before work begins.
2. Who we are
McBean Immigration Consulting Inc is an immigration consulting firm at 1978 Yonge St Suite 100s, Toronto, ON M4S 1Z7, Canada, led by Minerva McCoon McBean, a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC R712766) licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants. You can confirm our licence on the CICC Public Register.
3. Information here is general, not advice for your case
Everything on this website — service descriptions, blog articles, guides and the LMIA Readiness Audit — is general information about Canadian immigration. It is not legal or immigration advice, it is not tailored to your circumstances, and you should not act on it without speaking to a licensed professional about your own situation.
Immigration law, program criteria and processing times change frequently. We work to keep this site current, but we do not warrant that everything on it is complete or up to date at the moment you read it. Always confirm program requirements with IRCC.
4. No consultant–client relationship until we agree in writing
Reading this site, submitting a form, booking a call or emailing us does not create a consultant–client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have both signed a written retainer agreement and any required initial payment has been made. Until then, please do not send us confidential material you would not want disclosed.
5. No guarantee of outcome
Decisions on immigration applications are made by IRCC, provincial authorities and visa offices — not by us. We do not and cannot guarantee that any application will be approved, that processing will take any particular length of time, or that a program will remain open. What we undertake is to give you honest professional advice and to prepare and present your application competently and on time.
6. Consultations, fees and payment
- The 15-minute introductory call is free and carries no obligation.
- Paid consultations are booked and paid in advance through our booking page. The rescheduling and cancellation terms that apply to your appointment are shown to you at the time of booking and in your confirmation email.
- Professional fees for retained work are flat fees quoted in writing before the work starts, and are set out in your retainer agreement along with the payment schedule and refund terms.
- Government processing fees are set by IRCC or another authority, are paid to that authority, and are separate from our professional fees. We do not mark them up.
- Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Your card details are provided directly to that processor and are not stored by us.
Where anything in these terms conflicts with your signed retainer agreement, the retainer agreement governs.
7. Your responsibilities
If you retain us, you agree to give us complete and accurate information and documents, and to tell us promptly when your circumstances change. Immigration applications depend entirely on the accuracy of what is submitted; under section 40 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, misrepresentation can result in refusal and a bar on entering Canada. We will not submit information we know to be false, and we may end a retainer if we are asked to.
8. Acceptable use of this website
- Do not use the site for any unlawful purpose, or to submit false or fraudulent enquiries.
- Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site, its administrative area or its underlying systems.
- Do not scrape, copy or republish the site's content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
- Do not upload anything containing malicious code, or otherwise interfere with the site's operation.
9. Intellectual property
The text, layout, graphics, guides and tools on this site are owned by McBean Immigration Consulting Inc or used under licence, and are protected by Canadian and international copyright law. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction requires our written permission.
10. Third-party links
This site links to government pages, professional bodies and other external resources. We provide those links for convenience and do not control, endorse or take responsibility for the content of any external site.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, McBean Immigration Consulting Inc is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits our professional liability to clients under a retainer agreement, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under the CICC's rules.
12. Complaints
If you are unhappy with our service, please raise it with us first at info@canadanumberoneimmigration.com so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, which regulates all RCICs in Canada, through the complaints process on the CICC website.
13. Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
15. Changes and contact
We may revise these terms from time to time; the revision date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Questions can be sent to info@canadanumberoneimmigration.com or +1 (647) 916-1007.
