BREAKING: Home Support Pilot Reaches Cap on Opening Day

Foreign nationals can no longer apply online for permanent residency under the Home Care Worker Immigration Pilot: Home Support Pilot (HCWP:HS).

The program hit its cap of 2,750 applications— including 150 reserved for out-of-status workers— by 2:25 PM EDT on March 31, 2025, the same day it opened under the Workers in Canada Stream.

The pilot is expected to reopen in 2026, but the government has not announced when the stream for applicants outside Canada will open. The Child Care stream also reached its cap on the same day.
