📢 Canada Issues 3,000 Invitations in Latest CEC Draw – Lowest CRS Cut-Off Since September 2024

Canada continues to prioritize candidates with Canadian work experience in its latest Express Entry draw. On July 8, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 3,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program — a move that reinforces Canada’s focus on selecting skilled talent already contributing to the Canadian economy.

✳️ Key Highlights of the July 8 CEC Draw:

  • Program: Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Number of ITAs issued: 3,000
  • Minimum CRS score: 518
  • Tie-breaker rule: Candidates must have created their Express Entry profile before 1:48 a.m. (UTC) on October 2, 2024

This draw marks the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for a CEC draw since September 2024, when the threshold dipped to 509. It follows the June 26 CEC draw, which invited 3,000 candidates with a CRS score of 521 — showing a steady decrease in cut-off scores over recent months.

🔍 What This Means

The drop in the CRS cut-off to 518 is significant. It reflects IRCC’s ongoing efforts to create accessible permanent residence pathways for individuals who already have Canadian work experience — many of whom are international graduates or temporary foreign workers. These candidates often adapt more quickly to life in Canada and are considered essential to meeting labour market needs across the country.

This draw also serves as encouragement for CEC candidates whose CRS scores fall in the high 510s to low 520s. If your score is near this threshold and your profile was created before October 2, 2024, you may be among those invited to apply for permanent residence.

📝 Advice for Candidates

If you’re a CEC candidate with a CRS score in the 510–530 range, now is an excellent time to:

  • Keep your profile active
  • Update your work experience
  • Ensure your language test scores are valid
  • Gather documentation in anticipation of an ITA

Even a small improvement — such as retaking a language test — could boost your score and improve your chances in the next draw.
